It does not hold a model of a vehicle or of a weapon — these are separate ammunition parts, with which the interior, the ammunition stowage or the surroundings of an already built kit are supplemented. The set is not tied to one particular kit and you will use it anywhere ammunition of this caliber suits.
The StuH 43 howitzer of 150 mm caliber was a short weapon meant for destroying fortifications and built-up areas at short range. It was carried by German heavy assault vehicles built on the chassis of the Panzer IV tank. Ammunition of such a caliber is conspicuously large and both in the space of a battlefield and inside a vehicle it acts as a prominent detail — which is precisely why it pays to depict it accurately on a model.
Most often the ammunition will appear in an open interior of a vehicle, in a box set aside, in the hands of a figure or stacked by a weapon in a diorama. A smaller number of pieces arranged thoughtfully works better than a heap — it leads the viewer's eye to the place where something is happening. Prepare and paint the rounds separately and put them into the model only at the end, so that the surrounding paint is not spoiled during handling.
Degrease the metal parts with spirit and coat them with a base for metal, otherwise the paint comes away at every touch. Shells and cases usually differ in material and in surface, so it pays to distinguish them by shade and sheen: a more matte body of the shell and a smoother, glossier case. A light dark wash into the grooves and fine wear on the edges are enough at the end. Check the particular color scheme of the period against documentation for your build, because it differed according to the type of round.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit, which is not part of the package. Glue, paints and figures are not enclosed.
