A set of small accessories in 1:35 scale meant for fitting out a kit already built. It does not hold a model of a vehicle; these are separate parts depicting the magazines and transport boxes for ammunition for the 20 mm KwK 30 and KwK 38 autocannon. The set is not tied to a single kit.
The 20 mm KwK 30 and KwK 38 autocannon were among the armament of German light tanks and armored vehicles. The ammunition was loaded into them in box magazines, which the crew carried to hand and replenished from transport boxes. It is precisely these little things — magazines strewn about, an open box, a supply stacked along a wall — that turn an empty interior into a lived-in space.
The parts are small, so get tweezers with fine tips, a sharp scalpel, a surface and best of all a dish ready, so that nothing is lost. If the set holds photo-etched pieces, bend them in a bender or at least between two blades, so that the bend comes about in the etched pre-form and not outside it. They are glued with cyanoacrylate in the smallest possible drops applied with a wire — any excess floods the very detail you bought the set for. Before gluing, lay the parts out dry and think the composition through.
Degreasing with spirit, a base for metal, then the basic shade. Magazines and boxes tend to have a different surface from the vehicle, so a slight difference in color and another degree of sheen will do the scene good. A wash into the grooves and a dry brush on the edges will do the rest.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit, which is not part of the package. Glue, paints and tools are not enclosed.
