Responsibility details are not available.
The item is not a kit of the vehicle but an accessory to it. It brings the markings of the American tank destroyer M18 Hellcat in 1:35 scale for service with the battalion designated 805TD. The decals extend the options the base kit offers by a particular unit affiliation, and it is exactly that which turns a model into a depiction of a specific vehicle rather than of a general type. The manufacturer is the South Korean DEF Model, which specializes in accessories for military modelers.
The M18 Hellcat was an American tank destroyer of the Second World War. It was built on a light chassis with an open turret and had an exceptionally powerful engine in relation to its weight, so it was among the fastest tracked vehicles of its day. The design started from the assumption that the vehicle would defend itself by speed and by shifting its firing position rather than by armor. The designation 805TD refers to one of the tank destroyer battalions with which this vehicle served.
Decals call for a smooth gloss base. On a camouflaged vehicle sprayed matte, therefore, first lay on a coat of gloss varnish, at least in the places where the markings will go. Cut the decal out as close as you can to the edge of the printing, soak it in lukewarm water and let it rest until it releases from the paper. Once it is transferred, soak the water up and press it down with a soft cloth. On engraved areas, rivets and edges use softener, so that the film settles into the relief. Once it is dry, spray matte varnish over it, because only then can you go on with washes and pigments to weather the vehicle.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
