Responsibility details are not available.
This set brings an imitation of Zimmerit for a plastic model of the German heavy Jagdtiger tank destroyer in 1:35 scale. Zimmerit was a paste-like anti-magnetic coating that the Germans applied to vertical armor surfaces so that magnetic charges could not be attached to them. The pre-formed photo-etched parts faithfully capture the characteristic texture of the coating and are glued directly onto the surface of the model. It is an accessory, not a standalone kit.
The Jagdtiger was the heaviest tank destroyer put into series service in the Second World War, on the Tiger II chassis with a 128 mm gun in a fixed casemate. Zimmerit was applied at the factory until roughly the autumn of 1944, and its ridged texture is one of the striking visual marks of German hardware of the period.
Separate the parts and offer them up to a degreased surface on the model, gluing them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Work patiently so that the individual areas follow on from each other. Once glued on, go over the metal with a base color. The texture of the Zimmerit stands out once a wash and a dry brush have been applied.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
