The real subject

The dress of Soviet infantry of the Second World War consisted of a tunic with a collar, breeches of the galife cut, low boots with puttees or high jackboots, a belt with pouches and a field cap, a helmet or an ushanka (fur cap with ear flaps) depending on the season. A resting pose makes it possible to show equipment that has been set aside, which makes work with the composition of a scene easier for a modeler and allows details to be shown that are hidden on a standing figure.

Building and painting tips

Wash the casting in lukewarm water with dish soap to remove the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw, sand the surfaces wet and protect your airways. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue and fill any seams. After primer, paint the uniform in a muted khaki tone, deepen the folds with a darker shade and lighten the raised places. Set the leather parts and the boots apart with a different gloss, and the fabric can be refined with a light dry brush. Build the face up in layers and finally even everything out with a matte clear coat, because a glossy figure looks flat.
