Injection-molded plastic kit of the British destroyer HMS Zulu in 1:350 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the Tribal class ship as she was in 1941. The box includes photo-etched parts (among them railings and fine details) and a display base; check the exact contents and the parts count against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Tribal class were large, heavily armed destroyers of the Royal Navy of the late 1930s that put the emphasis on gun armament. HMS Zulu was launched in 1937 and in the Second World War served, among other places, in the Mediterranean; she was sunk in 1942 off North Africa. Trumpeter depicts the ship in her wartime 1941 configuration.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with thin modeling cement for plastic. Attach the photo-etched railings and the small extras with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush handles the coats best. It is a good idea to paint the deck and the superstructures before final assembly. Pick out the panel and shadow lines with a wash; restrained weathering suits a warship.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
