Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from AFV Club captures the Japanese ocean-going submarine I-58 in her late wartime form in 1:350 scale. The model can be built either as a full-hull piece or as a waterline version. The box usually comes with photo-etched parts and fittings for the one-man Kaiten torpedo midget submarines carried on the deck.
I-58 was a large ocean-going submarine of the Imperial Japanese Navy from the Second World War. In the late phase of the war she was modified to carry one-man guided Kaiten torpedo midget submarines, which were launched from the deck. She was a boat of long range, able to operate far out at sea.
Clean up the hull parting line and decide in advance whether you are building a waterline or a full-hull version. Glue the photo-etched parts and the small Kaiten fittings with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and a light touch. Airbrush the dark shades of Japanese submarines, pick out the deck detail with a wash and even out the whole with a matte clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
