The plastic kit IJN Destroyer Yukikaze Type KOH in 1:350 scale from Hasegawa represents the famous Japanese Kagero-class destroyer.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from Hasegawa in 1:350 scale captures the Japanese destroyer Yukikaze, one of the best known ships of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The model matches the configuration of this ship in the late phase of the Second World War. The exact number of parts and the package contents are given on the box.
Yukikaze was a Kagero-class destroyer and in Japan she earned the nickname the unsinkable ship. She went through a series of major battles in the Pacific, including Midway, Leyte and Operation Ten-Go in 1945, in which the battleship Yamato was sunk. Yukikaze was the only ship of the whole Kagero class to survive the war. She was armed with main-caliber guns, anti-aircraft weapons and torpedo tubes, and she stood out for her speed and her seakeeping.
Decide whether to build the model with the full hull or as a waterline version on a stand. Use liquid cement on the plastic and glue the small parts of the superstructure with care. Consider adding photo-etched railings and nets to raise the realism. Japanese naval schemes suit an airbrush, fine washes and drybrushing to lift the deck detail.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
