The box contains six miniature injection-molded models of the Kamov Ka-27 Helix shipboard helicopter in 1:350 scale. These are small supplementary machines intended to be placed on the decks and in the hangars of warship models in the same scale, not a large model in their own right. Their hallmark is the arrangement of two coaxial contra-rotating rotors.
The Kamov Ka-27 (NATO reporting name Helix) is a shipboard helicopter with a pair of coaxial contra-rotating rotors, originally Soviet and still operated by a number of navies. The basic version serves for anti-submarine warfare and rescue duties. The coaxial arrangement allows compact dimensions suited to operating from ships.
The parts are small and the rotors delicate, so separate them with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid plastic cement a drop at a time. Painting with an airbrush before final assembly is the answer. A dark gray naval scheme was typical.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
