An injection-molded plastic kit of the Chinese Type 031 submarine (the Golf class) in 1:350 scale from Hobby Boss. The model captures the hull of the submarine with its characteristic sail, into which the tubes for the ballistic missiles were built. The package usually holds etched parts and a stand for display. The Type 031 is a Chinese submarine derived from the Soviet Golf class design. It was built in a Chinese yard and served above all as a carrier and a test vessel for the development of Chinese naval ballistic missiles. The missiles were housed in vertical tubes built into the lengthened sail, the typical recognition mark of these early missile submarines. The vessel played an important part in the development of the Chinese undersea deterrent.
Glue the two halves of the hull with thin liquid cement for plastic and sand the parting seam carefully, so that it cannot be seen on the smooth hull. Fix the fine etched parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply primer and the paints with an airbrush; submarines usually carry a dark, matte finish. Bring out the transition between the color of the hull and the lower part and add fine traces of service. Set the model on the stand supplied.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
