U-40 (Type IXA, Turm I) is a plastic kit of the German ocean-going submarine of the Second World War in 1:350 scale from the manufacturer Mirage Hobby.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German submarine U-40 of Type IXA (the Turm I version of the conning tower) in 1:350 scale from the manufacturer Mirage Hobby. The model is conceived with a full hull and holds parts of gray plastic, decals and a stand. It renders a particular boat and its characteristic conning tower structure accurately.
Type IXA represented the first series of German ocean-going long-range submarines of the end of the 1930s, intended for operations on the open Atlantic. Against the smaller coastal types they had a greater range and armament. U-40 was among the first units of this series to be built.
In the small 1:350 scale, take care over gluing the halves of the hull cleanly and sanding the seam finely. For painting use dark gray naval shades, a primer base and a matte varnish; fine accenting of the panels and the hatches will give the model depth. Cut the small parts away carefully with a sharp knife.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
