A detailed set of American anti-aircraft Bofors quadruple mounts of 40 mm/56 caliber with the Mk-51 fire control system in 1:350 scale from the Polish brand MASTER. The package holds 6 complete mounts built up from resin, photo-etched and precisely turned metal parts. This is the ver.3 version, which differs from ver.2 in the design of the mount. It is not a ship kit but a highly faithful detail accessory replacing the simplified plastic anti-aircraft position.
The Bofors of 40 mm caliber was the most widespread light anti-aircraft gun of the US Navy in the Second World War. Quadruple mounts formed the core of the close-in air defense of US Navy battleships, cruisers and aircraft carriers in the fighting in the Pacific. The Mk-51 fire control system raised the effectiveness of the fire against fast air targets considerably.
Wash the resin parts free of the mold release agent and separate them carefully from the casting blocks. Glue the metal barrels and photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Build up the fine mounts patiently and with a sharp tool; degrease the surface before painting and apply a good primer.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. The base ship kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
