This injection-molded plastic kit from the manufacturer Riich Models captures the American nuclear attack submarine of the Los Angeles class in the later Flight II (VLS) version in 1:350 scale. The model is built as a full-hull replica and is meant for a stand. The package tends to be completed by a photo-etched plate with the name and by a split upper part of the hull; the propeller and the stern rudder may be movable.
The Los Angeles class is a numerous series of American attack submarines with nuclear propulsion. The Flight II version (from SSN-719) differs from the original boats in carrying a set of vertical launch tubes (VLS) for cruise missiles in the bow. These submarines serve for the fight against surface as well as underwater targets and for strikes on land targets.
Clean up the parting line of the hull thoroughly, so that the seam is not visible after painting. The sail with its retractable periscopes and masts can be completed in the raised position. Spray the model with an airbrush in dark shades for submarines, then apply the decals and even the whole out with a matte varnish. Seat it on the stand supplied.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
