The photo-etched set is a detail accessory, not a standalone model. It contains precisely etched brass parts for upgrading a plastic kit of the guided missile frigate USS Oliver Hazard Perry in 1:350 scale. It typically brings fine railings, ladders, radar screens, superstructure details and other elements that plastic cannot capture faithfully.
The USS Oliver Hazard Perry (FFG-7) was the lead ship of the American guided missile frigate class of the same name. Ships of this class served above all to protect convoys and task groups against air and underwater threats and carried guided missiles, sonar and shipboard helicopters. They were marked by a single main launcher forward and a compact superstructure.
Separate the parts carefully from the fret and bend them on a firm surface, ideally with a photo-etch bending tool. They are glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with epoxy. Paint the railings only once they are glued on, ideally with an airbrush in the shade of the hull and the superstructure.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
