An accessory set for a model of the Japanese aircraft carrier Taiho in 1:350 scale, marked as part A. It refines the details that are handled in a simplified way on a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Taiho was a Japanese aircraft carrier of the period of the Second World War. It differed from older Japanese carriers in an armored flight deck and an enclosed bow, which were meant to let it operate even where more lightly built ships would not hold up. It lasted only a few months in service, yet it remains all the more interesting a real subject for modelers.
In 1:350 scale even a large ship comes out at several tens of centimeters and the finest elements are rendered in a simplified way on an ordinary model. An accessory set replaces these parts with a finer version, so a finished ship gains the fineness of detail in scale that painting alone cannot make up for. The part A designation hints that the whole is divided into more parts; which elements this one holds is stated in the enclosed instructions.
Work with accessories is slower than building the model itself, so count on it as a separate stage. It proves itself to work over a mat with a raised edge, so that a small element does not get away from you, to use tweezers and to dose the glue in tiny drops. Degrease the areas before gluing. Choose the type of glue according to the material of the elements, and the order and placement according to the maker's instructions.
A model of the ship, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
