About product

Eduard 1:350 railings for the battleship Yamato - new tooling

This is a photo-etched accessory, not a ship model. The set holds fine brass railings matched to the deck outlines of the newer tooling of the model of the Japanese battleship Yamato in 1:350 scale. It replaces the coarse plastic railings and gives the finished ship a look that is true to scale. The model itself, glue and paints are not included.

The real subject

The Yamato was the lead ship of the class of the same name and the largest battleship ever built. She carried a main armament of 460 mm guns and represented the peak of Japanese naval armament in the Second World War. She was lost during the final operation in April 1945.

Use and tips

  • The railings are tied to the newer tooling of the model; check that your tooling matches.
  • Separate the parts with a sharp knife at the fret and bend them cleanly.
  • Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) in a small amount.
  • Degrease the brass before painting and spray it with primer.

Who the set is for

  • For builders of the newer tooling of the Yamato model in 1:350 scale.
  • For more advanced modelers working with photo-etch.

The accessory does not contain the model, glue or paints.

FAQ

No, it is a photo-etched accessory, a set of fine railings for a model. You need to have the ship itself separately.

For the newer tooling of the Yamato model in 1:350 scale. We recommend checking the tooling of your own kit.

Super glue (cyanoacrylate) in a minimal amount; cement for plastic does not hold on brass.

Working with fine railings calls for experience, so we recommend it to more advanced builders.
