The head is of natural hair and is dressed into a conical shape that holds a sharp point while keeping a reservoir of paint in the body. Size 00 is the finest in the range - the manufacturer's range continues with progressively thicker sizes.
A natural head will last for years if it is treated decently. Never leave the brush standing point down in a jar of water or thinner - the hair will break at the bend and the shape will never come back. Wash it out right after work, while the paint is still wet, smooth the point into shape between your fingers and let it dry lying flat or point upward. Aggressive lacquer thinner does natural hair no good; keep a separate brush for lacquer paints and save the fine natural heads for acrylics and detail work.
For modelers and figure painters who do the finest details and need a point that holds its shape even after a longer session. For large areas and base coats, reach for markedly wider sizes.
Store the brush so that the point rests against nothing - ideally upright in a stand or in a protective sleeve.
