A set of replacement parts for a model of the Suzuki GSX-RR racing motorcycle in 1:12 scale. It is not a kit of the motorcycle but an accessory for one: it holds the parts that replace the most simplified pieces out of the box. According to the manufacturer these include the rear brake caliper and disc, the rear wheel axle and nut, the chain adjuster, the brake and gear levers, the stand brackets and the aerials of the side camera. On top of that it replaces the frame mounting bolts and the bolts suggested on the fairing with real shapes. All the parts are printed in resin.
A plastic kit has to have shapes that can be drawn from a mold. Bolts are therefore often no more than flat rings and a brake caliper a solid block. In the large 1:12 scale this shows clearly on a finished model, because a motorcycle has no bodywork to hide the engineering. Printed replacements make those shapes the way they really look, and the finished model gains a great deal by it.
The printed parts have thin supports that are cut off with a fresh blade, and the area left behind has to be leveled. Do not look for casting blocks or mold release agent on them. They are glued with super glue dosed with a pin. Metal parts come out well over a dark base, polished up with a metallic shade. Always try a part dry against the one out of the box so that you know how much material to take off the model.
