The cool silver Golf VR6 Silver from Number Five is named after the Golf with the VR6 six-cylinder engine of the 1990s.

The Golf VR6 Silver shade is a light, coolly pitched silver without a golden cast. It is based on the paints worn by hatchbacks at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, that is from the time when light bodies started to outweigh deep colors.
The third-generation Golf received the VR6 six-cylinder at the beginning of the 1990s, and for a hatchback that was an unusual step. The cylinders stood at an angle of only fifteen degrees, so they fitted into the space for a four-cylinder and made do with a single head. A displacement of 2.8, later 2.9 liters turned an ordinary Golf into a fast car with a deep sound of a kind not expected from a compact. Light paints were among the most common with this generation and show well how softly the edges of the body are rounded. The fast version held back on the outside, and its marks were mainly wider tires, a discreet badge and unobtrusive exhaust tips.
It will be appreciated by builders of civilian cars who do not want to mix a silver from white and gray and risk the result sliding into blue or beige. It also serves well as a secondary tone on cars where silver is only on details. The subject is the body of the third generation, where light paint sits next to black bumpers and plastic trim, so on a model the silver always breaks against a dark frame.
