This is a set of resin concrete road barriers in 1:72 scale from the Rattlesnake brand. It is not a model of a vehicle or an aircraft but a diorama accessory that creates traffic barriers true to both period and engineering on a base, an airfield or in a town scene. The resin castings faithfully capture the texture of concrete and the edges of the sections, so once painted they read as real construction elements.
Concrete barriers (of the New Jersey type or plain dividing panels) are used to separate lanes, secure entrances, protect buildings and serve as improvised obstacles. In a modeling scene they give the composition scale, narrative logic and a visual anchor against which vehicles come into their own. They suit models in the matching scale and standalone dioramas alike.
Wash the parts free of any remains of mold release agent, cut the small casting blocks off and sand the surfaces with your airways protected. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Concrete comes into its own after spraying a gray base, lightening the surfaces and bringing out the joints with a dark wash; pigments and dry colors add dust, moss and signs of age.
The accessory is supplied as unpainted resin castings. Glue, paints and other material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
