The Ferrari F40 Competizione is the circuit version of the famous F40. Compared with the road car it was given lightened construction, revised aerodynamics and equipment matching racing use, so on a model exactly those features stand out that are hard to cast in plastic: grilles, thin catches and body joints.
This is a set of photo-etched parts, that is, thin metal elements on a fret that replace or supplement parts from the kit. According to the name the set is prepared for a kit from Tamiya in 1:24 scale. The exact list of parts, and which parts of the kit they replace, are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are held in the fret by thin tabs. Separate them with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with cutters, otherwise the edge will ripple. Make the bends along the scored lines, ideally in a photo-etch bender or between a metal ruler and a blade. They are glued with cyanoacrylate applied in a minimal amount; a pin will serve for dosing it. Degrease the parts before painting and use a primer suitable for metal, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface.
The set is for more advanced modelers who want to move the level of detail on a car in 1:24 scale further and who do not mind working with tiny metal parts. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
