Injection-molded plastic kit of a Tarantul class small missile boat in 1:400 scale from the Polish maker Mirage Hobby. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and decals are part of the box. The small scale makes the finished model a compact piece suited to a collection of small warships as well as to a simple diorama.
Tarantul is the designation of the Soviet small missile boats of Project 1241, which entered service at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s. The Tarantul III version carried anti-ship guided missiles and was intended for fast strikes in coastal waters. Fast and heavily armed, the boats served with the Soviet and later the Russian Navy and with a number of friendly fleets.
Cut the small parts off with a sharp knife and clean them up with a file. The hull can be built complete, or sanded down and set as a waterline model on a small stand. We recommend naval gray with an airbrush, the deck and the superstructures picked out with a dark wash and a matte coat at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
