An injection-molded plastic kit of the German U-149 coastal submarine of type IID in 1:400 scale from Mirage Hobby. Collectors of naval subjects will appreciate a model in this small scale; it is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The type IID was the last and most fully developed variant of the small German coastal submarines of type II. Compared with the earlier versions it had greater range thanks to saddle tanks and a modified hull. These small submarines served in coastal waters and spent much of the war as training boats. U-149 belonged to exactly this type.
Give attention to the seam line of the hull and to the fine parts of the conning tower. The model shows well on a stand; paint it with an airbrush in a darker gray naval scheme and set the waterline apart. Lay the decals on gloss varnish and seal them with matte.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
