An Academy 1:400 plastic kit of the battleship USS Missouri BB-63, one of the most famous Iowa-class battleships of the US Navy.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the battleship USS Missouri (BB-63) in 1:400 scale from the manufacturer Academy. The model captures the characteristic silhouette of an Iowa-class battleship with its line of main turrets and its extensive superstructure. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
USS Missouri was an American Iowa-class battleship, the last of her kind to enter service with the US Navy. She became famous as the place where the Japanese surrender was signed at the end of the Second World War in Tokyo Bay in 1945. In later decades she went through modernizations and deployments, and today she serves as a museum ship. Her main armament consisted of turrets with 16-inch guns.
Glue the hull and the superstructure with liquid cement for plastic and clean up the hull joints carefully. You can build the model either as a full-hull one on a stand or, depending on the version, down to the waterline. An airbrush and shades of gray suit a naval camouflage; set the deck surfaces apart and bring the whole out with a panel wash. The fine railings and antennas will benefit from added photo-etched parts, which are not part of this basic kit.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
