A set of three-dimensional decals for the pilot's space of the fighter aircraft in 1:72 scale. It offers instrument surfaces finished in color and cockpit fittings that in this tiny scale can hardly be drawn out by hand painting. The item is an accessory to a model; the kit itself is not to be found in the package. The dimensions of the elements match the cockpit tub of the Tamiya kit.
The G-6 version became the most produced form of the whole series. Its recognition mark was the pronounced breech covers of the pair of large-caliber machine guns over the engine, which modelers nickname the bumps. Under the cowling worked a supercharged V12, the armament was completed by a cannon firing through the propeller hub and underwing gun pods were added when needed. The machine served on every front from 1943 and saw countless field modifications, so two aircraft of the same version could look surprisingly different.
In 1:72 scale it pays off to work under a magnifier and with pointed tweezers. First paint the cockpit tub in a base shade, let it dry thoroughly and only then seat the individual elements. Once dry, check that nothing is in the way of bringing the fuselage halves together. A gentle bringing out of the shadows gives the cockpit a depth that paint alone cannot manage.
