1:24 TOYOTA UCF30 CELSIOR is a plastic kit of a Japanese luxury sedan. It is released by the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima, and 1:24 is among the most widespread scales for passenger cars, so the finished car will fit in among the other models in a display case.
The Celsior was Toyota's flagship on the domestic Japanese market. The generation coded UCF30 arrived at the start of the new millennium and brought smoother, rounder shapes than its more angular predecessors, a longer wheelbase and a markedly quieter ride. Under the hood sat a V8 engine, and the power went to the rear wheels through an automatic transmission. The car was built around comfort, sound insulation and a richly equipped rear cabin, which made it a popular choice for executive transport. That is also exactly why it became a rewarding basis for Japanese VIP style conversions, which work with a lowered stance and larger wheels.
The body of a sedan lives on a smooth paint finish, so it pays to spend time on surface preparation and on filling small imperfections. Apply the paint in several light coats and leave enough time between them. Leave the glazing and the bright trim until the end of assembly so that they do not get dirty.
