Culver TD2C-1 Turkey Red Wings is an injection-molded plastic kit of the American piloted target drone in 1:72 scale from FLY, with the striking red Red Wings markings.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the small American Culver TD2C-1 target drone, which could also be flown by a pilot, in 1:72 scale. It is a short-run kit from FLY with a clear translucent cabin canopy and a decal sheet for the form with the striking red Red Wings finish, which served to make the target easier to see during training.
The Culver TD2C-1 was the naval counterpart of the army Culver PQ-14 target. It was a small single-engine aircraft of wooden construction used as a radio-controlled aerial target for anti-aircraft gunnery training, but it could also be flown by a man on ferry and test flights. It was built in large numbers during the Second World War and a number of examples passed from the army to the navy.
As with short-run kits, we recommend first cleaning the parts up, dry-fitting them and gluing with thin plastic cement. Fit the small parts and the clear cabin cover only after painting. For the deep red finish a good base (a primer) and an airbrush suit; apply the decals over a smooth gloss coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
