A plastic kit of the ZIL dump truck in 1:43 scale, intended for assembly and painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
The ZIL marque belonged to a Moscow truck plant whose trucks formed the backbone of transport in the Eastern Bloc for decades and ran on Czechoslovak roads as well. The dump version had a tipping bed instead of a fixed one, so a load of bulk material could be discharged without hand work. A typical truck of this class had a short cab over the front of the chassis and a sturdy frame that reckoned with bad roads.
This is a plastic kit in 1:43 scale, in other words a set of parts for assembly and painting. A model in this scale suits a display case as well as a railway or roadside scene, where it meets other vehicles of the same size without a jarring mismatch. The number of parts, the extent of the glazing and the choice of markings are given by the manufacturer's instructions.
Clean the parts of excess material and production marks and always dry-fit the assembly before you reach for the glue. Use a cement intended for plastic models and apply it sparingly so that it does not run onto visible surfaces. It is practical to paint the cab and the bed separately and join them only once dry. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. A truck suits restrained weathering, that is dust in the wheel arches and wear on the edges of the bed.
The kit will please collectors of Eastern trucks as well as modelers who build scenes with vehicles in 1:43 scale. Paints, thinner, glue and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
