1:16 Insulators from the Firma49 marque is a set of insulators for the poles of telegraph and electrical lines in dioramas of the large 1:16 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Small fitted elements that complete a pole of a telegraph or electrical line in a scene of a large scale. An insulator is one of those things nobody notices until it is missing; as soon as it sits on a crossarm, the pole stops looking like a bare stick.
Most often they are fitted onto the crossarms of poles along roads and railways, but they will serve on the walls of buildings, on transformer stations or on simple wiring inside workshop interiors as well. In 1:16 scale the insulators are large enough for the sheen of the glass glaze to be worked out, which is practically impossible in smaller scales.
The subject tends to be white, light gray, brown or greenish. Believability is helped when you put a darker base under the covering shade and leave the light only on the upper surfaces. A final gloss overcoat gives the impression of glass or glazed ceramic better than any dry brush.
The elements are small, so prepare tweezers and apply the glue with a pin, not straight from the bottle. Mark the spacing on the crossarm in pencil beforehand, otherwise the gaps will drift apart and the irregularity is immediately apparent when seen from the side.
The poles, the wires and the paints needed to finish a line are not contained in this item.
