A detail set of the wheel bays for the Douglas A-1H Skyraider attack aircraft in 1:48 scale from Aires. The resin accessory replaces the simplified bays of a plastic kit with faithfully detailed compartments carrying the structure of the ribs, piping and rivets.
The A-1 Skyraider was an American single-engine attack aircraft with a piston radial engine, used for several decades after the Second World War. It was marked by a large weapons load and a long loiter time over the battlefield. The A-1H version was one of the later single-seat forms.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and bond with super glue. The bays come into their own once painted in a base shade, with the edges picked out by a dry brush and a gentle wash that underlines the three-dimensional structure.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
