About product

Quickboost A-20G Havoc cowlings (1:48 scale)

The Quickboost set (a range of the Aires company) brings resin replacement engine cowlings for the twin-engine Douglas A-20G Havoc attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is a detail accessory to a kit that replaces the plastic engine nacelle cowlings and captures their shape and panel breakdown more accurately.

The real subject

The Douglas A-20 Havoc (Boston with British operators) was an American twin-engine light bomber and attack aircraft of the Second World War. The A-20G version had a solid nose with fixed armament and was widely deployed with the Soviet Air Force as well. The cowlings of the radial engines were a striking element of the wing.

Fitting and painting

Wash the castings free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean them up. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Protect your airways while sanding. The cowlings are painted together with the wing, and the panel lines can be brought out with a thin wash.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers building the A-20G Havoc in 1:48 scale
  • Builders who want more faithful engine nacelles
  • More experienced modelers used to resin

The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
