Stencils for the glazing of the Douglas A-26B-15 Invader in 1:48 scale in a form for the inner and the outer side.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set for the cockpit frames and the other glazed areas of the twin-engine Invader attack aircraft in the B-15 production block. The cutouts match the ICM mold that the name of the item names and cover the glazing from both sides.
The Invader entered the fighting at the close of the Second World War as a replacement for older light bombers and it showed at once that it was substantially faster than its predecessors. It owed that mainly to a new wing with a laminar flow airfoil and to a pair of powerful radial engines. The B block carried a solid gun nose with no glazing for a bombardier, so the pilot led all the gun fire himself. Remotely operated turrets above and below the fuselage supplemented it, served by a single gunner from the rear position. The combination of speed and concentrated fire forward precisely made the machine an effective tool against ground targets.
The glazing of the Invader is not only the cockpit. Besides the sliding canopy there is the observation glazing above the rear position and smaller windows at the sides, and everything has a lot of short frames. Painting by hand would take a long time and the result would vary. Fit the inner cutouts from the same set before you glue the parts into the fuselage.
