This product is not a model of an airplane. It is a small detail set in 1:48 scale from the brand Quickboost, which specializes in simple resin replacements for individual parts of plastic kits. The contents are machine gun barrels intended for the underwing gun pods of the attack version A-26B Invader. The accessory replaces the parts from the box, which because of the injection technology tend to be thicker and less accurate than the way the guns look on the real machine.
The Douglas A-26 Invader was a twin-engine attack and light bombing aircraft of American manufacture from the period of the Second World War. The A-26B version had a solid nose fitted with fixed gun armament, and some of the machines additionally carried pods with guns slung under the wing. It is precisely these underwing pods that are the reason the barrels are dealt with separately: on a model they are a striking and clearly visible detail on the leading part of the wing.
Wash the resin parts first in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap, so that no mold release agent is left on the surface, otherwise the paint holds badly. Cut the sprue gate off with a sharp cutter or a saw with fine teeth, never break it off. Do the sanding wet and with respiratory protection. Glue the thin barrels with super glue, ideally of a gel type, which gives time to align the angle. Do the fitting by the wing, not by eye: the barrels must be parallel with the longitudinal axis of the fuselage, otherwise a deviation is immediately visible on the finished model. For painting, a dark metal with a light graphite polish and a fine wash in the muzzle of the barrel will do.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without glue. The base kit and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
