This resin set from Quickboost contains protective covers (FOD covers) for models of the A-4 Skyhawk carrier attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. The covers are fitted over the air intakes and the exhaust nozzle and protect the engine against foreign objects getting in on deck or on the ground. At the same time they hide any imperfections inside the ducts. It is an accessory, not a kit.
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk was an American light carrier attack aircraft with a long operational career with the Navy and with other air forces. On carrier decks its intakes and nozzle were routinely covered, and on a model those covers are a striking element of color.
Wash the resin parts to remove the mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks. The covers are usually sprayed in a signal color with the Remove Before Flight lettering; bring out the securing straps with a dark wash. They are placed on a finished model without glue, or fixed with no more than a spot of it.
This is a detail accessory, not a model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
