A resin detail set, not an airplane kit. This set of finely cast resin replaces the fixed air refueling probe, that is the in-flight refueling probe, of the American Grumman A-6 Intruder carrier attack aircraft in the A-6A and A-6E versions and of its electronic variant the EA-6A, in 1:48 scale. The pattern answers to the early version of the probe. The casting brings fine shapes and a faithful tip, which are hard to form from plastic. The set is meant for more advanced modelers with experience of resin.
The in-flight refueling probe projects ahead of the nose and is conspicuous on a model, so its exact shape markedly affects the final impression. The resin replacement is finer than the thicker plastic part out of the box and it captures the tip of the probe more faithfully. Once painted and lightly weathered it looks realistic.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
