A detail set of the electronics (avionics) bays for the LTV A-7D Corsair II attack aircraft in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Aires. It is a resin accessory that opens up and faithfully equips the bays holding the aircraft's electronics: the instrument blocks, the wiring and the inner structures, which in a basic plastic kit tend to be only suggested or closed.
The A-7 Corsair II is an American subsonic attack aircraft of the 1960s, derived from the F-8 Crusader fighter. The A-7D version was the land-based variant operated by the US Air Force, with its own fit of avionics and armament. Open service panels with electronics are a rewarding subject for dioramas and display models.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Use respiratory protection while sanding. The fit of the bays comes into its own once painted and the details picked out gently with a wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
