The A-7E Corsair II cockpit set — late version 1:48 (Aires) is a resin detail cockpit set for a build of the LTV A-7E carrier-based attack aircraft. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin cockpit set from the maker Aires in 1:48 scale replaces the basic pilot's compartment of a kit with a faithfully executed tub, an instrument panel, side consoles and an ejection seat. The execution matches the late A-7E version. It is an accessory intended to be built into a kit, not a standalone model of the aircraft.
The LTV A-7 Corsair II is an American single-seat subsonic carrier-based attack aircraft whose structure grew out of the airframe of the F-8 Crusader fighter. The A-7E version was the definitive version for the Navy with a more powerful powerplant and cannon armament. The late machines differed in the details of the instrumentation and the avionics.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The cockpit is usually painted dark gray and the instrument panels are picked out with a dry brush and a wash. Using a mask or templates will speed up painting the onboard instruments. Protect your airways while sanding.
This is an add-on resin set for a kit, not an airplane model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
