The A6M bulkhead with the seat at the top stop completes the pilot's compartment of the Zero kit from Tamiya in 1:48 scale.

The replacement bulkhead with the seat at the top stop completes the cockpit of the Zero kit from the brand Tamiya. A seat set high stands out above all on a model with the canopy slid back, because the backrest and the side edges stay in view.
Series production ran from 1940 and besides the parent Mitsubishi it was joined by Nakajima, which in the end delivered the larger share of the total. Over ten thousand were built, which makes the A6M the most numerous Japanese aircraft of the Second World War. The last examples served right up to the capitulation, by then mostly as trainers and as machines for attacks with no hope of return.
The simplest way is to paint the part before gluing it into the fuselage, because the lower part is hard to reach in a finished cockpit. Only once the paint has dried should you seat the set, check that it is square and only then glue the fuselage halves together. Before that, check whether removing the original parts has left a lug in the fuselage that would lift the bulkhead. Belts made from foil are easiest to shape on the finished seat.
The item covers the interior fittings; the plastic parts of the aircraft are not included.
