1:48 A6M2 Model 11 Markings airbrush mask is a set of spraying masks from MH models for spraying the markings onto a model of the Japanese A6M2 Model 11 fighter. It is not a kit and not a set of decals.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive spraying masks for modelers who want the markings of the aircraft sprayed in paint. The mask is stuck onto a painted model, sprayed over with the target shade and removed once dry, so the resulting lettering or insignia is part of the layer of paint and does not lie on the surface like a decal. The set is prepared for a model of the A6M2 Model 11 fighter in 1:48 scale. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
The Model 11 was the first production A6M from Mitsubishi. It did not yet have the folding wingtips that the Model 21 brought, and it used a radial Nakajima Sakae engine. It was committed in combat mainly over China from 1940, and at the time it appeared its long range and agility made it one of the most capable carrier fighters.
Let the base coat cure thoroughly before masking, ideally for several days. Degrease the surface and offer the mask up with tweezers, exactly to the reference position on the model. Press the edges down with a toothpick or a blunt tip, so that the paint does not get under them. Spray with thinned paint in several light coats, because a heavy coat creates a ridge around the mask that shows afterwards. Remove the mask as soon as possible after it has dried and correct any small overruns with a brush. Then unify the whole model with varnish of the sheen you want.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
