This is a detailed resin set meant to replace the cockpit of a plastic kit, in this case the Aermacchi MB-326 from Italeri. The model is not included in the package. CMK is a Czech accessory brand that has long specialized in sets of this kind. The exact list of parts is given on the packaging of the set; with sets of this type, count on the fact that fitting them calls for removing the original plastic part and dry-fitting.
The Aermacchi MB-326 was an Italian two-seat jet trainer that first flew in the second half of the 1950s and became one of the commercially most successful machines of its class. It was powered by a Viper engine, and its structure was simple and cheap to operate, which led to extensive export and to license production in several countries including Brazil, South Africa and Australia. Single-seat combat versions for the light attack role were also built. The cockpit with its two seats in tandem is clearly visible on a model in 1:48 scale, so a detailed interior visibly pays off.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release comes off the surface, or neither primer nor paint will hold on them. Cut the casting blocks away with a fine-toothed saw or a cutting disc, never with nippers. Sanding should be done wet and with respiratory protection. Before gluing, try the whole cockpit dry in both fuselage halves and remove the plastic a little at a time until the halves come together without pressure. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, and on larger areas with the gel version, which gives you a few seconds to set it in place. Painting is easier before the set is fitted: a base shade, a dark wash into the recesses, a dry brush on the edges and finally small accents of color on the instruments and the levers.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit, which it does not contain. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
