A detailed resin set from the Brassin range of the Czech maker Eduard, containing modern AIM-9X air-to-air missiles in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an armament accessory. The set covers a set of missiles with fine castings and a decal sheet for faithful markings, with which you can arm models of present-day fighters.
The AIM-9X is the newest member of the Sidewinder family of short-range infrared-guided missiles. It entered service in 2003 and brought high maneuverability, thrust vector control and the ability to be launched at off-boresight targets thanks to its link to a helmet-mounted sight. It is carried by a number of modern American and allied fighters.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts and cut off the casting blocks carefully. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the missiles according to real schemes, pick out the fine detail and add the decals from the set. Wear respiratory protection while sanding.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
