A marking sheet in 1:48 scale for the upgraded A-10C attack aircraft in service with the flying units of the Air National Guard. The name designates it as the second part, so it follows on from an earlier release on the same theme. How many machines the sheet covers and where they come from is given in the enclosed instructions. The package holds the markings, not the model.
The A-10 came about as a single-purpose machine for supporting ground forces: the whole airframe is literally built around a large-caliber seven-barrel cannon, the engines sit high above the rear fuselage and an armored tub protects the pilot. The A-10C version is the result of an upgrade program that gave the machines a digital cockpit with multifunction displays, new controls and the ability to work with precision guided munitions and a targeting pod. It is in exactly this form that Thunderbolt IIs fly with Guard units as well.
Check that your airframe matches the upgraded form; the cockpit and the pylons on older releases of kits differ from the later standard. The gray finish of the attack aircraft is matte, so spray a gloss intermediate coat under the markings and flatten the surface again once it is dry, so that the result does not read as glossy islands.
