A decal sheet in 1:48 scale with markings for F-4C and F-4D Phantom II aircraft in service with the Air National Guard. The second part of the series.
Responsibility details are not available.
The McDonnell F-4 Phantom II is a two-seat, twin-engine multirole aircraft that can be recognized at first glance: the outer sections of the wing point upward, the horizontal tail surfaces downward and the nose is stout. The F-4C version was the first that the US Air Force took on, and the F-4D followed with revised equipment. When the machines left the combat units, a large part of them passed to the Air National Guard units of the individual states. It was there that the Phantoms received their most colorful markings: colored bands on the tail surfaces, state insignia and conspicuous unit codes. This second part of the series is devoted to exactly those.
Water-slide decals in 1:48 scale with markings for F-4C and F-4D machines with Air National Guard units. The sheet supplements or replaces the markings enclosed with a kit.
Finish the model with paint and spray it with gloss varnish. Cut the feature out as closely as possible, soak it and let it rest for a while, until it starts to slide freely on the paper. Move it into place along with a little water underneath, line it up and blot the excess water away with a soft cloth from the center to the edges. Lay the colored bands across the tail surfaces in one go and align them to the edges; over curved transitions a decal softener helps.
For modelers who want a Phantom in a colorful postwar finish instead of gray combat camouflage. The kit, paints, varnish and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
