AN/APS-4 Radar Pod (1:48) is a 3D-printed resin accessory, a faithful miniature of the American carrier radar pod of the Second World War period for superdetailing aircraft models.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is NOT a model of an aircraft but a separate detail accessory. It is a faithful miniature of the American AN/APS-4 carrier radar pod, which during the Second World War and shortly afterward was hung under the wing or on a pylon of a number of carrier aircraft. The set is made by 3D printing in resin and is conceived universally, so it can be used on a wide range of models of American aircraft of the matching period.
The AN/APS-4 was a light portable radar that gave single-seat and two-seat machines the ability to find targets in the dark and in bad weather. The pod with the antenna was carried outside the airframe, most often under the wing of fighters and torpedo or dive bombers of the US Navy. The accessory brings a model of an aircraft fitted with this equipment to life and gives it a look true to its period.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent to remove print residue. Carefully cut off the print supports and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting; choose the shade according to the particular finish of the aircraft in question.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
