Precisely cast resin exhaust pipework for the Soviet general-purpose biplane Antonov An-2 in 1:48 scale. It is an aftermarket detail part that replaces the coarser or thick-walled plastic exhaust from the base kit, not a standalone aircraft model.
The Antonov An-2 is a single-engine general-purpose biplane powered by the Shvetsov ASh-62 radial engine. It made its name as a rugged workhorse with short takeoff and landing, committed to agriculture, transport and military service. Since its introduction at the end of the 1940s thousands have been built and the aircraft is still in service today.
Resin parts call for more careful work than plastic: first wash them free of mold release agent, separate them carefully from the casting block (the gate) and glue them with cyanoacrylate. Protect your airways when sanding and cutting small parts. Apply a primer before painting. The exhaust comes into its own once painted in metallic and rusty shades completed with dry weathering and traces of exhaust gases.
