An accurately cast resin landing light for the Soviet Antonov An-2 utility biplane in 1:48 scale. It is an aftermarket detail part that replaces the simplified or missing plastic part from the base kit, not a stand-alone aircraft model.
The Antonov An-2 is a single-engine utility biplane powered by a Shvetsov ASh-62 radial engine. Thanks to its short takeoff and landing and its robust structure it was used in agriculture, in transport, by armed forces and for night and multi-purpose flying, which is where landing lights come in. The aircraft has been in service from the late 1940s to this day.
Resin parts call for more careful work than plastic: first wash the mold release residue off them, separate them carefully from the casting block and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Protect your airways when sanding and cutting small parts. Apply a primer before painting. It is a good idea to bring the reflector surface out with silver paint and possibly to put a drop of clear varnish on it for the impression of glass.
