An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Sd.Kfz.251/9 half-track gun vehicle in the Ausf.D version in 1:35 scale from AFV Club. The model captures the late form with the short 7.5 cm gun, built up from many parts including a separate breech. The Sd.Kfz.251/9, nicknamed the Kanonenwagen, came about by fitting the Sd.Kfz.251 half-track carrier with the short 7.5 cm KwK37 L/24 gun. It gave the German armored infantry mobile fire support at a time when the short barrels were freed up for other uses after the Panzer IV tanks were rearmed. The late form had the gun mounted higher and protected by a front shield. The vehicle was used from the second half of the war on every front.
Assemble and paint the interior of the fighting compartment and the running gear before you close the hull. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and attach the photo-etched parts and the metal gun barrel with cyanoacrylate glue. Once the camouflage has been sprayed, bring out the panel lines and the rivets with a wash and add dust and mud effects with pigments on the tracks, the wheels and the underside of the vehicle.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
