The Quinta Studio set contains colored cockpit fittings printed by 3D technology on decal paper. The instruments, the side panels and the details of the pilot's and observer's seats have spatial depth and factory coloring, so there is no need to paint them. This is not an aircraft kit but an upgrade accessory for a plastic model of the two-seat Ar 196A-3 floatplane in 1:48 scale.
The Arado Ar 196 was a German shipborne reconnaissance floatplane of the Second World War. It was launched from the catapults of large warships and served for reconnaissance and light attack duties. The two-seat cockpit with its good glazing leaves a well-worked interior plainly in view.
The elements have no adhesive layer; they are printed on decal backing paper. So go over the cockpit surfaces with a gloss varnish (Future/Klear, Tamiya X-22), dip the cut-out part in lukewarm water for fifteen seconds and slide it off the paper into place. On intricate shapes a drop of super glue helps. Do not use decal softener or setting solution; they would attack the printed resin. The interior needs no further painting.
This is a detail accessory, not an aircraft model. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
