Avro Anson Mk.I Part 2 - decals 1:48 from Xtradecal

This sheet from Xtradecal widens the options for marking a model of the Avro Anson Mk.I in 1:48 scale. The Anson was a British twin-engine all-metal aircraft with a fabric-covered rear fuselage, which served for patrolling over the sea and above all as a trainer for the training of multi-engine crews. The Part 2 designation means that this is the second part of a decal series for the same type, so the individual sheets follow on from one another and offer different schemes. The package contains decals, not a kit.

What alternative decals are for

Trainers and auxiliary machines tend to be overlooked, yet they carry interesting and varied markings. A separate sheet makes it possible to build a particular machine outside the variants included with a kit. Application and decal softeners

• Varnish the surface with a gloss varnish and let it cure properly, and only then apply the decals.
• Trim the decal close to the printing, so the edge of the carrier is as narrow as possible.
• Soak it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it slide free while still on the paper.
• Settle it with a damp brush, align it against the lines and draw the excess water off with a towel.
• Over fabric areas and riveted seams use a decal softener. The decal will wrinkle at first, but leave it alone and once dry it will settle into the relief.
• Seal the finished markings with varnish in the degree of sheen the surrounding finish has.
