Responsibility details are not available.
A small photo-etched set in brass sheet in 1:48 scale from the Czech brand Eduard. It is not a model of the airplane but an accessory for a plastic Lancaster kit. According to its name it is aimed at the engine radiators. Cooling grilles are exactly the kind of place where molded plastic offers only suggested relief, while thin photo-etch can give the area real depth and an open structure.
The Lancaster was powered by four Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engines housed in nacelles on the wing. Each of them needed its own liquid cooling, and the radiators are clearly visible on a model from the front as well as from the side, so detail on them pays off. The aircraft of No. 617 Squadron, still known today as the Dambusters, are among the most famous Lancasters of all, thanks to the attack on the German dams in the Ruhr in May 1943.
Fine grilles are easily deformed by fingers alone, so handle them with flat-jawed tweezers. Separate them with a scalpel on a hard surface and level any burr with a fine file. Dose the glue with a pin so that it does not run into the perforation and flood it. Degrease the sheet before painting and go over it with a primer, otherwise the paint rubs off against the frame.
